Opportunities in Risk

This 2–3 day short course introduces participants to the principles of Opportunity and Threat Management using the Diamond of Opportunity® framework. The program explores how organisations can shift from a risk-only mindset to an approach that identifies and leverages opportunities that exist within uncertainty.

You will learn how to:

• Apply the Opportunity and Threat Management process to real workplace contexts
• Balance risks and opportunities to inform stronger business decisions
• Align opportunity management with ISO 31000:2018 risk management principles
• Identify, evaluate and treat opportunities that can deliver long-term organisational value
• Build capability to manage business risks through a structured, opportunity-led approach

The course is designed as a 2-day workshop with an optional 3rd day for participants to undertake assessment for the nationally recognised Unit of Competency BSBOPS504 – Manage business risk.

This course is ideal for people who are:

• Risk Managers
• Procurement and Contract Managers
• Project Managers
• Business Analysts
• Team Leaders and Supervisors responsible for decision-making

This course is an AQF Accredited course.

• Participants seeking the accredited Unit of Competency must complete all 3 days of the program (including the assessment on Day 3). Upon satisfactory completion, they will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for: BSBOPS504 – Manage business risk
• Participants not seeking accreditation are only required to attend the first 2 days of the program. They will receive a Certificate of Attendance recognising their participation in the Opportunities in Risk course.

Satisfactory completion requires attendance at all relevant course sessions, completion of classroom and individual assessment tasks (where applicable), and active participation in discussions and group work.

This course runs for two (2) or three (3) full days. 

Course delivery can be either in-person or facilitator-led online. In-person training can occur at a client site or our Brisbane or Canberra training centres. Our training centres can provide a blended approach allowing students to attend the same course virtually or in person.
