The Diploma of Government qualification is aimed at the APS6-EL1/2 classification, or equivalent, and it is aim at those with responsibilities for managing people and other resources.
The Diploma of Government qualification is aimed at the APS6-EL1/2 classification, or equivalent, and it is aim at those with responsibilities for managing people and other resources. At this level, you will be looking at coordinating and managing people and other resources, dealing with conflicts and performance, and determining and managing risks. With your knowledge in the Government’s compliance with legislation and policies, you will promote, support and uphold these legislations and policies during their public service dealings and duties, and they will assist in the development of a supportive and inclusive workplace.
This course will cover a range of soft skill development, including the development of your emotional intelligence when working with people, and you will learn complex communication strategies to effectively work with your peers, subordinates, and managers.

Upon satisfactory completion of this course, course participants will be awarded with the PSP50122 Diploma of Government qualification.
Satisfactory completion includes daily attendance of the course, completion of both classroom and individual assessment, and contribution towards discussions and group work.
Classroom training is delivered over eleven (11) full days, generally over four blocks of training, within a 2-3 month period:
Course participants can attend this course in-person, on client site or on a Pro Leaders’ Training Centre, or virtually via live streaming. Pro Leaders’ Training Centres can provide a blended approach that allows course participants to either attend the same course virtually or in-person.
For those with experience and/or related prior learning, we offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Specific Requirements
Minimum of 12 months of Australian Government experience, preferably in as a team leader or manager AND/OR holds a Certificate IV in Government.
General Requirements
Course participants must have a functional level of English and have the capacity for independent learning and group work.
